Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Man with Van Brent Park has taken, and continues to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within our business and supply chains. We are committed to operating ethically and with integrity in all our relationships, and to implementing effective systems and controls to safeguard against any form of exploitation.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Brent Park provides transport, removals, and related support services to domestic and commercial customers. Our operations rely on direct employees, contracted drivers, and a network of suppliers who provide vehicles, fuel, equipment, uniforms, and ancillary services. We recognise that elements of the logistics and transport sectors can be vulnerable to labour exploitation, and we take this responsibility seriously.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, forced labour, servitude, child labour, and human trafficking in any part of our operations or supply chains. No form of coercion, debt bondage, abusive working conditions, or withholding of identity documents is tolerated. This policy applies to all employees, contractors, agency staff, and suppliers. Any breach or suspected breach is treated as a serious misconduct issue and may lead to termination of contracts, cooperation with authorities, and other appropriate actions.
Risk Assessment and Due Diligence
We regularly assess where the greatest risks of modern slavery may arise in relation to our business. Particular focus is placed on temporary labour, subcontracted driving services, and suppliers from higher-risk sectors. Before entering into new supplier relationships, we conduct proportionate due diligence to understand their labour practices, policies, and track record. We prioritise working with suppliers who demonstrate clear commitments to ethical employment standards.
Supplier Standards and Audits
Our expectations regarding modern slavery and ethical conduct are communicated to all key suppliers as part of our procurement process and ongoing supplier management. We expect suppliers to uphold, as a minimum, the standards set out in relevant labour laws, including lawful working hours, fair pay, voluntary employment, and safe working conditions.
We reserve the right to conduct audits or request evidence of compliance from suppliers. These audits may include site visits, document reviews, and discussions with management and workers. Where concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to agree corrective actions within clear timeframes. If sufficient improvements are not made, we may suspend or end the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage anyone who works for or with Man with Van Brent Park, as well as any third party, to raise concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical labour practices. Reports can be made to management in person or in writing, and concerns will be handled sensitively and, where appropriate, confidentially. Individuals raising concerns in good faith will not suffer any detrimental treatment or retaliation.
We are committed to investigating all reports promptly and thoroughly. Where necessary, we may refer matters to relevant authorities or specialist organisations. We will take appropriate action against any individual or organisation found to be involved in modern slavery or human trafficking.
Training and Awareness
We aim to build awareness among our managers, supervisors, and staff about the indicators of modern slavery, the importance of vigilance, and the procedures for reporting concerns. Training and guidance are provided proportionate to roles and responsibilities, particularly for those involved in recruitment, supplier selection, and contract management.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
Man with Van Brent Park is committed to continually improving its approach to preventing modern slavery. We recognise that risks and best practices evolve, and we will adapt our processes accordingly. This statement and the underlying policies and procedures are reviewed annually by senior management to assess effectiveness, reflect changes in legislation, and incorporate lessons learned from audits, investigations, and industry developments.
Following each review, we will update this statement as needed and communicate any significant changes to relevant stakeholders. By maintaining a clear framework of zero tolerance, supplier oversight, accessible reporting channels, and regular review, Man with Van Brent Park seeks to ensure that modern slavery has no place in our business or our supply chains.
